The Fountain Theatre has been an iconic landmark since its establishment in 1905, when Albert Fountain Jr. bought the building. From its humble beginnings as a movie house to the current venue for live performances, the theatre has seen many changes over the years. Currently operated by the Mesilla Valley Film Society, a non-profit organization. The film society presents independent, foreign, and documentary film and video. The oldest part of the existing theater building is the front wall, which dates back to the 1870s. Learn more about the history of the theatre here.
